ADVISORY BOARD / CULTIVATE'25/ STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION

STRATEGIC PLANNING

Dr. George Kantor and William Hered from Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute. Dr. Anthony LeBude and Dr. Chris Marble assisting with facilitation.
Facilitated discussion about electric tractors, capabilities, needs assessment, and opportunities. Some LEAP outputs over the five-year grant period will be mountable to electric tractors or mobile vehicles. Robotic applications require robots to function in larger, more complex environments, often on unstable ground and unknown terrain.

QUESTION #1

  • What are some challenges for these robots that are unique to nursery crops environments?

QUESTION #2

  • Where else in production is overlooked in terms of these robots contributing to performing tasks or meeting efficiency needs?
